Films4Freedom and The Learning Co-op invites you to join us for a special fundraising screening of Gillo Pontecorvo’s revolutionary masterpiece, “The Battle of Algiers”, to understand the tactics of the Algerian revolution and their relevance to global struggles today.
Join us to witness the steadfast courage and success of Algerian resistance against French colonial occupation. We will examine how imperialist exploitation inevitably leads to organised, popular resistance, and how the tactics of the Algerian National-Liberation Front, from clandestine organising to the battle for public opinion, continue to inspire global struggles against oppression today, from Western Sahara to Palestine and beyond.
To understand this fight, we must also understand the language of the land. The Learning Co-op is proud to announce a new Levantine Arabic Beginners Course, a form of resistance through education.
