India Labour Solidarity Film Screening & Discussion

Films & Performances

Join us for a screening of Haemolymph: Invisible Blood, a Hindi feature film written and directed by Sudarshan Gamare, based on the life of Abdul Wahid Sheikh’s wrongful accusation in the 7/11 Mumbai train bomb blasts. This will be followed by a discussion with some of the cast and crew members of the film, as well as Abdul himself who will be joining remotely!

Wahid was a teacher at a Mumbai school and the only person to be acquitted out of 13 accused in the 11 July 2006 Mumbai train bombings case. Born in Pune, he did his schooling in Mumbai after his family shifted there. Wahid completed his post-graduation and studied law during his nine years in jail. He recently completed his PhD documenting prison literature of political prisoners.

He has also written a book called Begunah Qaidi on the lives and stories of his 12 co-accused falsely implicated in the 7/11 Mumbai local train blasts.

About India Labour Solidarity (ILS): ILS)is a UK-based anti-caste collective that:

  • advocates for solidarities across global labour movements through a focus on workers’ struggles in India and the UK
  • extends solidarity with people who are resisting colonialism and militarisation, as well as the broader aspects of imperialism that perpetuate labour and climate injustices

India Labour Solidarity is committed to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive space for everyone participating in this event. We acknowledge that discussions may touch on sensitive issues such as islamophobia, state violence, and other forms of systemic injustice.
